This photo is taken from the climber's trail as it winds down through the colorful mountain ash toward Holden Lake. The pyramid of Copper's summit rises to a height of 8966 feet and, even though it looks higher, it is surpassed by 9249-foot Mt Fernow pushing up behind its west shoulder.
